Further to the addition of the XJ-A130 LED Projector earlier this month, we have now added the full range of Casio LED projectors to our website. Models range from 2,000 - 3,000 ANSI lumens and some also feature USB input and WLAN...

The new generation of projectors has arrived, thanks to the new CASIO models with an operational life of up to 20,000 hours without changing lamps. This means a ten-fold improvement in performance against the conventional lamps used in Casio projectors (approx. life of 2,000 hours). 20,000 hours means: 10,000 two-hour business presentations, or over 13,000 live football matches viewed in large format at home with friends. A new projector from Casio is a profitable investment for the future, above all when you think of the considerable follow-up costs for replacing conventional projector lamps: assuming a service life of around 20,000 hours, you would need to buy up to nine new lamps!

Epson has launched its first range of ultra-short-throw projectors designed to meet the growing demand for easy to use ICT equipment in classrooms. The new models are ideal for use with standard or interactive whiteboards as the ultra-short-throw distance significantly reduces glare and shadow interference. The Epson EB-460i and the Epson EB-450Wi use an interactive pen to give the teacher total control of applications, add notes and drawings which can be saved during a lesson. For larger classrooms, teachers can amplify their voice via a microphone input and an inbuilt 10W speaker. The range also includes Ethernet and optional wireless connectivity to allow teachers to deliver presentations over a network and effectively engage students in a large or small classroom.

One of our larger projects during the busy summer period, Glamorgan University, was successfully completed last week. The system is truly amazing allowing 1 lecture theatre and 3 meeting rooms to be linked via video conferencing. A further 8 classrooms have had more conventional kit installed into them. The project was within a listed building making the work even more difficult. A number of firsts were achieved with this project: This is the first time we have installed a video conferencing system unaided by a distributor & the first time we have installed a computer network. A great deal has been learnt during this installation and we look forward to using this knowledge to take on more challenging projects in the future.

As a contracted supplier to the NWUPC & the CPC (Further Education Colleges) for the supply of audio visual equipment. Roche Audio Visual has recently been awarded a contract for audio visual installation and materials (01/02/08 - 31/02/10).

This means that Roche is now contracted for the supply and installation of audio visual equipment to the following education bodies:

November sees the launch of the eagerly awaited Hitachi A1 Series ultra short throw LCD Projectors. LG Electronics have announced the worldwide launch of its new LT75 series of LCD TVs and PT85 series of plasma TVs with upgraded built-in digital video recorders (DVR). These Freeview playback TVs give their owners more control of their time and save space. LG has added several new features to its Freeview playback TVs including dual tuners, which allow viewers to watch one programme while recording another, and 160GB of storage space.

"At LG we strive to develop new technologies that make TVs sleeker and smarter," comments James Atkins, marketing manager for LG brown goods. "Our Freeview playback TVs have made it far easier to use DVRs by eliminating the need to connect yet another external box to the TV and learn to use it. This new range will become synonymous with intuitive, beautiful and high-tech televisions that enhance the viewing experience".

The LT75 and PT85 series are the first to be Freeview Playback certified. This standard was created by UK DTV Services Limited to promote DVRs by raising consumer trust and awareness.

This is the first time in the UK that this new product has been supplied, allowing remote "room to help desk" communication over the Universities network.
